Miranda Lambert has given us another wonderful non-surprise.
The “Vice” singer’s 24-song album The Weight Of These Wings has been certified platinum by the RIAA, according to her record label. The ambitious project was released in November, selling 122,000 copies in its first week. Platinum certification recognizes one million in sales.
Singles from the album include “Vice,” “We Should Be Friends” and “Tin Man.” “It’s basically like my diary won Album of the Year,” she told members of the press after the ACM win in April. “My dad had the title ‘The Weight of These Wings’ for a song and we never wrote it. So I asked permission from him to use it because I thought it was beautiful and very fitting – it was very special.”
