MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - JUNE 19: A view of Frankston foreshore is seen during sunrise on June 19, 2017 in Melbourne, Australia.

When I was a little girl growing up in the church in Shelby I remember the old timers saying “I’m shore (sure) glad I’m a Christian, cause if hell’s any hotter that this…).  The saying applies this weekend as we reach 100 degrees (starting Friday) and that’s not even counting the heat index.  So where are the hottest places on earth?  One is right here in the USA.

5)Timbouctou, Mali …record heat of 130 F

4)Kebili, Tunisia ….131 F

3)Ghudamis, Libya …131 F

2) Death Valley, Cali 134 F

  1. Al’Azizihay, Libya 136.4 F
