Sweet baby Warren from Charlotte is ALL set for today's eclipse.  We have been barraged with facts about the events of the day, I thought some superstitions would be fun.  Here Goes:

Ancient Aztecs believed a lunar eclipse was a result of a bite being taken out of the moon.  The idea translated into a Mexican superstition  that if a pregnant woman viewed the eclipse, a bite would be taken out of her unborn child's face.  Yikes!

Hindu text credits the eclipse to the head of the demon Rahu who ate the moon or sun. ooooookkkkkkkkk

Do wear metal and red underwear.  Yep, superstitions say wearing a safety pin and red underwear  offers a pregnant mother protection against a cleft palette.

These are a few of the many ridiculous ancient superstitions that surrounded an eclipse back in the day.
