Farewell Jay Thomas
Yesterday, the world bid farewell to a radio/TV icon. I had just listened to Jay Thomas a couple of weeks ago on his show on Sirius/XM, and laughed my head…

About twenty years ago, we had lunch with Jay and he gave us some truly invaluable advice. He listened to a tape of our work and said, "Look, I think you guys have potential, but be careful not to over-shoot the room. Remember, everyone listening is an 8th grader, so a burp and fart will always be funny."
He was right. ;)
Jay left full-time radio years ago, and was highly successful on TV shows like "Murphy Brown" and "Cheers." He was though, to this town, best known as the morning guy on Big Ways in the early 70s.
WAYS-AM was on what is now, 610am WFNZ "The Fan." For many years that station was in our building and I (Charlie) always took pride in doing work on a station that Jay Thomas did (okay, same frequency, but you get the point).
An incident occurred while working on Big Ways that became immortalized over the years on David Letterman's talk show annually at Christmas time.
For the final time, and in tribute, here's "The Lone Ranger Story"....
