Look, I realize that some stories are beloved. And because of this, you can expect them to be re-done or re-booted from time to time in Hollywood.

But shouldn’t we expect more from Disney?

After all, aren’t they generally regarded as the most creative people on the planet? SHOULDN’T they be able to come up with new things all the time instead of just re-treading over their own material?

Latest example? “The Lion King Reborn.”

“The Lion King,” of course, is one of the most successful animated films in the company’s history (and THAT is SOME history). It become an phenomenally successful Broadway/touring musical (pictured above).

And now, it’s being re-done as a live action/stop motion animation movie. I’ll grant you, it looks visually amazing, but really?!

Do we have to have this? Why not something NEW with the characters? Oh well, my gripes are falling on deaf ears as this will make a gazillion dollars and that’s all that matters.

“The Lion King Reborn” will be out next summer.
