Okay, full disclosure...we LOVE a good shark movie. In fact, real quick, a recommendation on Netflix right now is "47 Meters Down."

Trust us.

Now, back to the point of this blog. In 1999, a movie called "Deep Blue Sea" came out. The plot was scientists were genetically modifying the brains of Mako sharks in an attempt to cure Alzheimer's Disease. As with most films where humans play God, chaos and tragedy ensues. I remember thinking, "This is what 'Jaws' would have looked like if CGI was available in 1975." It was pretty good and featured one of the most memorable scenes in Samuel L Jackson's career (IMHO).

Well, 19 years later, apparently scientists are STILL trying to play God with shark brain manipulation. This time with Bull sharks. And it appears more chaos and tragedy ensues in "Deep Blue Sea 2" comes direct to home video and on-demand April 17.
