It has been my experience that a little Melissa McCarthy, goes a long way. So, I'm usually leery of her movies-especially when, upon first glance, this just looks somewhat like a female version of "Old School." That being said, the opening scene of this trailer for "Life of the Party" did make me laugh out loud.

Here's the official synopsis:

"Directed by McCarthy’s husband, Ben Falcone, New Line Cinema’s comedy finds longtime dedicated housewife Deanna (McCarthy) turning regret into re-set by going back to college after her husband suddenly dumps her. Deanna lands in the same class and school as her daughter, Maddie (Molly Gordon), who’s not entirely sold on the idea. Plunging headlong into the campus experience, the increasingly outspoken Deanna–now going by Dee Rock–embraces freedom, fun and frat boys on her own terms, finding her true self in a senior year no one ever expected."

In a time populated by explosions and superheroes in the theater, this comedy opens on May 11.
