In 1986, a small, weird, science fiction movie was released called, "Highlander." Although it featured fantastic music from "Queen," it's box office success was "meh" at best, but as cable TV was starting to take hold, and pay channels like HBO were looking for movies to air, "Highlander" became a cult classic. Rather than to try to explain it, here's the original trailer

That particular movie spawned two sequels and then in the mid-1990s, I (Charlie) fell in love with the TV series it spawned starring Adrian Paul (pictured above on the left) as the original protagonists "distant cousin"

The TV show created 3 movies in its own right,   the best of which combined heroes from both the original and the series, "Highlander:  Endgame." (it's MUCH better than this trailer-btw)

However, the franchise has been sitting dormant...just waiting for a reboot for a decade now.

And here we go.

Lionsgate is moving forward with the project from "Colony" (great show on USA) writer Ryan Condal, according to Deadline. The film is set to begin pre-production later this year.

Supposedly they've got a story that they are really happy with and I can't wait.
