Before there were superhero movies being made every week (or so it seems), or dozens of "Star Wars"/Star Trek" films, there were two characters that Hollywood simply could not get enough of: "Tarzan" and "Robin Hood."

The former had a great run from the advent of talking movies-really thru the 1950s (with spotty success since). However, Robin Hood is gold almost every time the story in mined.

In recent memory, there has been a light, action-adventure story starring Kevin Costner. Also, we've seen a romantic version starring Audrey Hepburn and Sean Connery (pictured above).   Additionally, a zany version from the mind of Mel Brooks.  And there has been a grittier telling starring Russell Crowe.

This latest version stars Taron Egarton, Jamie Foxx, and Eve Hewson (Bono of U2's daughter). This, to me, looks like a Robin Hood for the video game age.

Check it out.
