All good things must come to an end.

And when it comes to TV shows, it's sometimes interesting to mark where the end began. In the case of "The Walking Dead," I think we'll be able to trace it to two big announcements over the last couple of weeks.

First off, it was no secret that Lauren Cohan ("Maggie"), who has been a MAJOR character was not under contract for the upcoming 9th season and filmed a pilot "Whiskey Cavalier" for ABC.

Well, it got picked up (see trailer below).

Uh oh.

The producers of TWD quickly had to get her under some sort of deal to finish out the arc of her character.

Then this week Andrew Lincoln, "Rick Grimes" (pictured above), the man around which the whole show is/has been centered, announced this season WILL be his last and in fact will only be appearing in six episodes.

Name me the last show that survived when THE biggest character AND one of the biggest supporting characters BOTH left a show?

I'll wait.

So, if "The Walking Dead" ends with season 9 or 10...remember this week.
