Everyone at our party was "buzzing" about these colorful treats.  They were so fun and easy to assemble, and they really added a kick to our July 4th celebration.  Keep reading to find out how I made them!

  • 2 jars maraschino cherries
  • 1 package white chocolate chips
  • blue decorating sugar
  • vanilla vodka

The original recipe for these treats is an adult version spiked with vodka.  You can totally make them kid friendly by omitting the alcohol.  They would be equally yummy for everyone!  I made mine for adults...so, I used two jars of maraschino cherries that I drained the liquid from and replaced it with vanilla vodka.  I soaked them in the jar for a few hours.  You can do overnight.  Drain off the vodka.  It is important to dry them well before proceeding.  Spread them on paper towels and dab them to get as dry as possible.  Melt white chocolate chips in the microwave according to package directions.  Dip each cherry in the chocolate 3/4 up, leaving some of the red showing.  Pour the blue sugar into a bowl and dip the bottom of the chocolate cherries into the sugar.  Leave on parchment paper to set up.  And...enjoy!
