Our son loves all horror/slasher movies. We LOVE the Halloween movie franchise (so we have at least one commonality). Sure some of them are real clunkers, but the original from 1978 remains not just a horror classic, but a classic in general.
If you watch, it's VERY similar to "Jaws" in that there is not near the gore you'd imagine or that we've become accustomed to in movies of this genre. Rather, the suspense and apprehension is created by what you THINK could happen.
In a word, it's brilliant.
Original writer/director/composer, John Carpenter is involved in this film as is his star, Jamie Lee Curtis. It comes out in October, and we can't wait.
