The Best Cole Swindell Song You Haven’t Heard Yet

About 5-6 months ago, I was sitting in our boss' office talking music.  We used to do that all the time.  He had/has a great ear for up and coming artists and songs that REALLY hit home for everyone.

He had just been on a business trip with Cole Swindell and was told that he had just finished his new album and handed it in to the record company.  HOWEVER, he'd just written a song that he wanted to get on there and didn't know if he could.

He gave the song to my boss and swore him to NOT playing it on air.  My boss told me that no man he played it for had made it to verse two without having to stop the song.

"REALLY?!  Geez...play it."

"I'm sorry ma'am, don't hang up, no I ain't sellin' nothin'
I don't know what I was thinkin' when I called, I guess I wasn't
Yeah I was just down on my luck
Having some trouble with this old truck
And the guy that used to pick up, he could fix anything

Sometimes I forget these ten digits ain't my lifeline anymore
Every now and then I dial 'em up when life gets tough or when the Braves score
Sorry 'bout the one ring hang ups, early morning, late night wake ups
It was just me, in case you wondered, you've got dad's old number"

"Stop the song."

I still HAVE my father and I was a mess.  This is the kind of song that I'm sure Nashville will figure out a way to screw up, not release, and never reap the rewards of a DEFINITE "Song of the Year."  So, just in case that inevitability does occur,  here's Cole Swindell's "Dad's Old Number," the final track on his new CD, "All of It."  Yes, it made it on the record.

This version is a little different from the one of the record (a little slower), but still amazing.
