Looking for the perfect pumpkin? Here are 5 easy things to keep in mind!
- Look for soft spots and signs of mold... make sure you check underneath too! You want it to be firm, if it gives a little, it's not fresh.
- Choose a lighter orange pumpkin.. pumpkins continue to ripen and turn more orange after they are picked.
- Look for a dark green stem, that's a sign it was picked recently.
- You want flat walls on your pumpkin, no deep walls. These pumpkins are much better for carving!
- Finally, sit it on a flat surface to make sure it sits upright.
