So this morning as we were doing our around- the- house chores we take care of every day,and we suddenly found ourselves with no water.  This is not hurricane related in any way.

There is construction in our neighborhood, and the crews had a mishap when digging and broke a line.  I was in the middle of lots of things requiring water.  I had things in the sink that needed rinsing, the laundry was halfway done, the dog was begging for water, and I had not showered or washed my hair for work.  Luckily, I remembered we had several bags of ice in the freezer left over from our hurricane prep.  So, I started melting ice.  I had kettles, pots and pitchers in the microwave and on the stove so I could thaw out water for the basic needs.  I was pretty proud of myself for being able to "make" enough water to get everyone taken care of, and we were none the worse for wear.  I felt a little like the Little House on the Prairie folks...minus the microwave and the big rigs and diggers in the neighborhood that caused the problem to begin with!  LOL Have you ever had a "little house on the prairie" moment?
