Making This Car Rental Mistake Cost Man $1400

Don’t be this guy and learn from his mistake.

Don't be this guy and learn from his mistake. As soon as Scott Sewell got into his rental car, he noticed something was off. But by not telling the company, it cost him dearly.

The steering wheel was a little crooked, but since it didn't affect the car's handling, Sewell drove away thinking little of the issue. But upon returning, the Washington DC Alamo location hit Sewell with a $1400 repair bill, claiming the car's rack and pinion system was damaged.

Since he never informed them at the moment he received the car, there was no way to prove he didn't cause the problem.

Thanks to some help from Elliott Advocacy, Sewell was able to negotiate the cost in half, but was still on the hook for nearly $700.

Oh man, this really sucks. I feel for him!
