As a 13-year resident of Union County, I can tell you that the opening of the Monroe Expressway is nothing short of a gift from God.

It stretches from Stallings to Marshville (bypassing the bulk of 74) and depending on the time of day can save anywhere from 20-40 minutes off the drive.

Here's the important part:  GET YOUR NC QUICK PASS.

I learned the hard way when I was in Texas this summer and drove on some toll roads without a pass thinking, "Aw, they'll just bill me...how bad can it be?"

Try less than $10 in tolls....more than $50 in taxes and fees!

According to state officials it will only be 35% more without a pass, but do you really want to put your faith and trust in that?

And once you get your quick pass...how do you install it?

In addition to online purchase, you can also go to one of these locations open 9-5 weekdays (this is what I did):

Morrisville:

200 Sorrell Grove Church Road
Suite A
Morrisville, NC 27560

Monroe:

3034 Winston Ave.
Monroe, NC 28110

Charlotte:

8015 W. W.T. Harris Blvd.
Charlotte, NC 28216
