Sports Illustrated's "Most Valuable Podcast" producer and showrunner Jessica Smetana tweeted about the theme song saying that “we hate the new Carrie Underwood song,” noting that as the “powers that be” are paying attention to un-related issues dealing with longtime SNF announcer Cris Collinsworth, they should also see the Underwood comments.
Carrie clapped back at Smetana via Twitter saying, “I love what I do and I love being a part of @SNFonNBC...I also love women who build other women up...just saying..." wrote Underwood.
Smetana quickly apologized to Underwood for her tweet about the new SNF lyrics and said she just missed the line, "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" so much.
Boom, Mic Drop.
