As a native Texan, I truly don't find this surprising at all. I mean, whereas in the SE United States every county has a "fair," in Texas (especially Central Texas where I went to college) it seems every county has a rodeo.

Shoot, I know of guys who "lettered" in rodeo in high school. That's right, they had a rodeo team.

So when you tell me a Texas couple led their giant steer inside a Houton area Petco, I might find it odd, but I'm surely not surprised.

Oh, and Petco's done it to themself. Their policy is very explicit. "All leashed pets are welcome" the store proclaims, which means there's no discrimination as to what is considered a pet.

So when Shelly Lumpkin and Vincent Browning's African Watusi named Oliver arrived, it was shown the front door with arms wide open.

Browning noted on Facebook, "The staff members here are always super friendly and courteous to us. We really enjoy coming to this location...our favorite Petco BY FAR!!"

Meaning...Oliver has graced more than one?!

Oh, and in case you were wondering, there's no weight listed for Oliver, but his particular breed can grow up to 1,600 pounds.
