HBO has been responsible for some of the finest television dramas of the last 20 years:  "The Sopranos," "The Wire," "Game of Thrones," and "Deadwood"

The show was set in the 1870s, during the richest gold strike in U.S. history, which drew a number of people to a settlement in the Black Hills of what is now South Dakota. The series originally aired from 2004 to 2006 for a total of 36 episodes.

The cast and stories were FANTASTIC.

Unfortunately, it was cancelled-suddenly and unexpectedly-due to a dispute between Paramount Television and HBO.   So, all who enjoyed this amazing show never got resolution.

Until now.

The original writer/creator, cast and crew have come together for a one-off reunion movie to tie up all the loosed ends.

Deadwood:  The Movie airs on HBO May 31.
