Ever since the low-carb diets began rearing their head in the early 2000s, "bread" has become a dirty word and a completely taboo food group.

For those of us who obey these diets, the thought of a sandwich with two, big, fluffy pieces of bread or buns is but a memory.

BUT...what if you replaced the bread...with a pickle?

Welcome to Elsie’s. This is a sandwich shop located about 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia in Haddon Township, New Jersey, and it uses pickles instead of bread for its sandwiches.

The nine-week-old restaurant boast it is the “home of the pickle sandwich.”

Would you eat this?  I mean, you probably would put a pickle on your sandwich anyway, right?

Charlie Nance is the Afternoon Drive co-host (along with his wife) of "The Charlie and Debbie Show" at WSOC, Country 1037 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The couple have been with the radio station since 2006.
