From the late 1970s to the early 1990s, Friday nights were owned by CBS and the show that brought back the "cliffhanger," Dallas.

At the center of that show was an ongoing feud between the Ewing and the Barnes families. Specifically, "J.R. Ewing" and "Cliff Barnes."

J.R. Ewing was famously portrayed by the late, Larry Hagman.

Cliff Barnes was played by Ken Kercheval.

Ken Kercheval has joined Larry Hagman in Heaven having passed away on Sunday. The cause of death is unknown. He is survived by his three children.

Ken Kercheval was 83.
