Does the word "moist" bother you?
According to Paul H. Thibodeau, from Leiden University in the Netherlands, the word moist bothers people because of what people associate with the word and not necessarily the word itself.
People associate the word with bodily functions and more young, educated, neurotic women are the ones who are grossed out by it.
The word has been the subject in such sitcoms as "How I Met Your Mother" and "Dead Like Me" and there’s even a Facebook group with 20,000 members dedicated to the hatred of “moist.”
