Carrie Underwood has always had “it.” She still sits atop my list as greatest American Idol of all time and it’s been almost fifteen years since she won. Six albums and dozens of awards later, the 36-year-old from Muskogee, Oklahoma has only become an even bigger idol across America and beyond.

Carrie’s latest single, “Southbound” from her Cry Pretty album, captures the feeling of whiling away a hot summer weekend on a cool lake with good friends and a few frosty beverages. I’m guessing it strikes a chord with plenty of folks who live in the Carolinas.

If you missed Carrie Underwood in Greensboro in May, you can still catch her on the Cry Pretty Tour 360 on September 29th at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia and September 30th at PNC Arena in Raleigh.
