Lindsay Ell is working on the follow-up to her album, The Project.

Lindsay told us, "A lot has happened in my personal life and in my career the last couple of years and I've written about all of that. I feel like If I'm not writing completely honestly about how I feel, the fans aren't gonna believe it, and really I'm not gonna be proud of my own record. So, I'm just writing about the journey of what I've been through the past couple of years."

Ell explained, "My process of moving to Nashville and living in town now for the last nine years has not been anything of textbook 'This is how you do this, this is how you do that,' but I'm so appreciative of every part of the process because I think it's just made me look back and be even more grateful for it."

She adds, "As far as looking forward to the future, I want to be headlining arenas, I want to play for people every night around the world."

No word yet on when the new album is slated for release.

Lindsay sang the National Anthem on Friday night at CMA Fest. She posted to Instagram, "This was me after singing for the first time on stage at the stadium for #CMAFest."
