How great is this? You're a United States soccer legend, just watchng some NFL training camp action from the stands.
Your eye moves toward the place kicker. You think, "Shoot, I can do that!"
Well, Carli Lloyd did more than just think that on Tuesday while watching a pratice between the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens.
She made multiple attempts and then sent a 55-yard strike through the uprights.
Dead. Solid. Perfect.
NFL Hall of Fame personnel director Gil Brandt tweeted, "Honestly, I don't think it will be long before we see a woman break through this NFL barrier. I'd give her an honest tryout if I were, say, the Bears."
If a woman IS going to break through to the NFL, it will be as a place kicker and I don't think we're far from seeing someone get a try.
