Okay, even though this involves President Trump, this is in no way, shape, or form a political blog or commentary.  No, this is one parent's-one father's-opinon.

Most of us have nicknames for our loved ones.  My son's name is Hogan.  I RARELY call him that.  He's either "H," "Bud," or (stolen from "The Wedding Crashers"), "Babaganoush."

To my dad, still, I am "Bud."

President Trump's nickname for his son Baron, we find out today, is "Melania's son."

HUH?!

Look, nothing wrong with The First Lady, she is beautful, thoughtful, and highly intelligent.  I believe she's not nearly as admired as she should be.

That being said, I love my mom...but don't call me "Patti's son."

Hogan would wince at the thought of me calling him "Debbie's boy."

Maybe I'm coming at this the wrong way.  Maybe I shouldn't think this is weird.  After all, who am I to pass judgment on a personal thing like this, but it just seems to me to be an odd attack on a boy's masculinity.

And there's enough of that in the world already.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.
