Look, we've been battling the bulge and trying to eat healthier for the entirety of 2019. This is not our first foray into the world of dieting however.
We've tried a bunch...some have worked, some have not.
And along the way, of course we've come across MANY tips to help-most of which we've thought were junk. However, the Journal of the Association for Consumer Research has revealed their endorsement of these:
-that those who ate in a room where a mirror was hanging made healthier decisions. Never thought about eating in front of a mirror, but seeing as how I hate them, I can buy it.
-Scent can aid your diet journey. One experiment showed sniffing foods made people less hungry, while in another study, burning a vanilla candle caused participants to skip dessert. I love the smell of vanilla. I can't imagine it, OR ANYTHING, other than mind over matter, making me want to skip dessert.
-Make sure you sleep with the lights out. I'm horrible about this. I sleep with the TV on.
-drink coffee in the morning. Check. Not sure how that helps you lose weight though. I've always had coffee, and I've not always been healthy.
-and keep in mind that the color of your plate could affect portion sizes. I've NEVER heard this. I've heard of portion plates, but not color.
Any of these actually work for you?
