This is the kind of thing that would happen to me or my family. And maybe this hits close to home as my grandmother is about to turn 103 in January.
Isabel Albright lived a long and full life and passed away last year at the age of 102. Having never dealt with this, I imagine one of the "little" things that must be done is the cancellation of all services in her name as, to be blunt, the deceased won't be needing them anymore.
Well, her family didn't count on the tenacity of DirecTV. When told of the situation, the television provider informed the family that as Isabel was still under contract with them, there would be a $160 "early termination fee''.
They explained the situation.
Yeah, that'll be $160.
FINALLY the family got a television consumer advocate reporter involved and all has been resolved. And yes, DirecTV's parent company AT&T did reach out to apologize, but GEEZ, right?
