At New York’s Comic Con this past weekend, the brass behind AMC’s “The Walking Dead” franchise made a couple of big announcements.

Season 10 of “The Walking Dead” kicked off last night, with falling ratings.  Season 4 of “Fear The Walking Dead” (the franchise spinoff) wrapped up a week ago, with falling ratings.

SO, big announcement number one was, “The Walking Dead” has been renewed for Season 11.  It was at that point that original cast member Lauren Cohan (pictured above) came on stage to say she’d be returning to the show in her role of “Maggie.”

Big announcement number two-and most surprising-there’s a NEW “Walking Dead” show on the horizon.

As of now, there is no title for the show (or premiere date), but  will focus on the first generation of children that have grown up during the zombie apocalypse who call themselves Endlings, and are aware of how to survive if confronted by them, but have otherwise been raised behind walls and have never actually experienced survival.

Cool premise, right?

And maybe the shot in the arm that this franchise needs.
