Dracula Returns

The first time I can ever remember being “scared” by a movie or TV show was when I was a little boy and my sister made me stay up to…

circa 1932: Hungarian-born actor and film star Bela Lugosi (Bela Ferenc Blasko, 1882 – 1956). Acclaimed for his performance in ‘Dracula’ on Broadway in 1927, Lugosi began acting in feature films in 1930. His appearance in ‘Dracula’ in 1931 marked the start of a long career in horror films. His career subsequently declined due to the effects of drug addiction. He was buried with his Dracula cape. (Photo by Mabel Livingstone/Hulton Archive/Getty Images)

The first time I can ever remember being "scared" by a movie or TV show was when I was a little boy and my sister made me stay up to watch Bela Lugosi as "Dracula" on a late night movie (see above).

Funny thing is, it scared me so bad I was scared to watch it again until I was in my 30s.  Of course, by that time, that particular Dracula movie is SOOOO tame.

Anyway, I've always been fascinated by the character and love just about every movie incarnation that there's been.

Well, just in time for Halloween comes this teaser for a 3-part mini series to debut on the BBC and Netflix this winter.  It's from the makers of "Sherlock" and it looks creepy, scary, gory...everything you'd want in a "Dracula" movie or TV show.
