Something that Debbie and I learned early on in our career together is that if you're going to put your marriage on the radio, you have to live with a certain lack of privacy.

Now, we're just simple people who happen to do a "public" job, so the moments are few and far between where not being able to hide comes into play.

However, I remember when Debbie was pregnant.  We milked that six ways from Sunday on the air.  It was great, and fun, and people were really into it with us.

And then a regular doctor's appointment turned into an emergency c-section birth, two months early, and a son's life hanging in the balance in a Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit.

Because we had let everyone in on our lives, I had to go on the air, alone, and face telling our listeners the whole story of the scariest days of our lives-that were still ongoing.

Do I wish we could have dealt with that privately?  Absolutely!

Do I realize why we couldn't?  Absolutely!

It's what we signed up for.

That's why when I read this about Miranda Lambert this morning, I just sort of nodded my head and said, "Sis, that's part of the deal of being a famous country singer."

Now she's big time so EVERYTHING she does is magnified.  Including, obviously, her divorce from another famous person, Blake Shelton.

Lambert is the cover story in the December issue of  Health magazine.  In a usual refrain, Miranda says she wants people to focus more on her music than her personal life.

Good luck with that. <g>

And yes, Lambert admits it was tough going through a divorce in the public eye.

I'd like to say I can't imagine...but I can.
