Tom Holland Was Drunk When He Saved Spider-Man
Earlier this year, the future of Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was in danger due to a dispute between Disney and Sony.
Tom Holland has played Spider-Man in 2 solo movies and several Avengers films. Disney CEO Robert Iger said it was Holland that saved Spidey for future films. Holland sent Iger an emotional e-mail and that set things in motion.
Well, Tom was on Jimmy Kimmel and was asked about this and the emails resolution. THIS is too funny. Go 10 minutes into the this interview to get the tale.
Holland said, “I’m three pints in. [I] haven’t eaten much and I get a phone call from an unknown number and I have a feeling, ‘I think this is Bob Iger?’ But I’m drunk.” Holland didn’t reveal too much more about the call but he says he “wept” and he was “emotional” at the thought of his run as Spider-Man coming to an end.
