Okay, it's not like being a musician and being knighted by the Queen is a rare thing. I mean just off the top of my head there's Sir Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney and Sir Elton John.

However, none of those have proudly worn the nickname "The Prince of Darkness" for his career. One man has, Ozzy Osbourne.

A Change.org petition posted by fan Helen Maidiotis is looking to merge these two categories as it's calling for Ozzy to receive the knighthood he so rightly deserves.

Her campaign began eight years ago, but since Ozzy shared the latest petition it has attracted 19,000 signatures – just 6,000 short of the target.

“After 8 years of campaigning, we believe it is now time Mr Osbourne be honoured for his 50 years of Services to Music and Charity,” says Helen.

How GREAT would it be to see Queen Elizabeth II place the sword on Ozzy's shoulders and declare him "Sir Ozzy?!" IKR! It has to be done. So keep spreading the word with the hashtag #KnightOzzy.”
