I preface this with I have not seen this film, nor do I have any plans to.  It's a personal decision of faith that regardless of anyone's artistic right or intent, I won't give it credence.

Netflix is currently facing heat for a film that depicts Jesus as gay and keeping it in the closet.

The film called 'The First Temptation of Christ' has Jesus and his friend Orlando visiting Mary and Joseph on his 30th birthday.

Those are two sentences I never thought I would read, much less write.

Understandably, Christians are "seriously offended" by the film.  You think?  ESPECIALLY at this time of year (although, it would not matter, it just exacerbates the situation).  Further, they've shown their disgust with a petition that has garnered over 1.8 million signatures on Change.org.

Although Netflix hasn't commented on the controversy around the film, they  did release a statement about the situation (although as of this blog, I can't find it ANYWHERE!).  However, I'm not sure what they could say that would make millions of the Christian Faith around the world approve.
