Tanner In The Morning

Weekdays 5:00AM - 10:00AM

Tanner’s wife says America just got a new star!

I have to be honest, I don’t really watch “The Voice.” OK, maybe just a little here and a little there, but my wife loves it! She has instructed me not to give away the winner unless you have already clicked on this story. She tapes the show and was furious that she saw the winner online! But she is happy about the results! She says Jake Hoot is awesome!

So you clicked…here you go

Congratulations to The Voice contestant, Jake Hoot, who won it all during Tuesday’s finale. The one-chair-turner impressed judge, Kelly Clarkson, who was his coach during the competition.  The Corpus Christi, Texas native, and single dad performed a cover of Luke Combs’ “When It Rains It Pours” to start the season and continued to wow with songs from Willie Nelson, Trace Atkins and an original song detailing his painful divorce.  Clarkson praised all of the final contestants, calling the group, “the most talented group of singers.” Hoot said having Clarkson as his coach helped him grow as a parent and an artist.

Did The Voice get it right? Do you think another contestant should’ve won?
