It seems with each passing day, being “under 21” is getting worse and worse. 😉
Of course, you can’t legally consume alcohol, that’s nothing new. In many places, there is a movement afoot to prohibit the purchase of tobacco products to anyone under that magic age. NOW comes word of a new bill introduced that if made law, would trigger the youth of America more than the above two could ever imagine.
Vermont State Senator, John Rodgers has brought to bear legislation that would ban the use of cellphones by anyone under the age of 21.
Yup. Read that paragraph again.
Violation of the law would punish those under the age threshold found with a cellphone with up to one year in prison, a $1,000 fine or both.
Rodgers argued that young people are too immature to use cellphones, citing the role the devices play in fatal car crashes. You and I both know, this guy is bananas. Shoot, even Rodgers himself said he may not vote for the legislation, adding that he just wanted to make a point: “I have no delusions that it’s going to pass. I wouldn’t probably vote for it myself.”
