I believe I've commented on this before, but I have such vivid and happy memories of going to see the original "Ghostbusters" when I was at Dean Smith Basketball School in Chapel Hill as a boy.

To this day I can quote so many things from that movie...most of which came from the mouth of Bill Murray, aka "Dr. Peter Venkman."

Outside of the original sequel, the tempermental Murray has had nothing to do with the franchise or any of its spinoffs, but that's about to change.

It's official Bill Murray will be returning to the Ghostbusters franchise in the upcoming 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife' movie.   When I first saw this trailer last fall, although it was rumored he was involved, Murray was nowhere to be seen.

The film will be a sequel to the first two films and will deal with the death of original Ghostbuster Harold Ramis and his character Egon Spengler.

Ramis was a lifelong friend and collaborator with Murray and I'm sure this aspect of the project was a major reason for him to lend his talent.

The other stars of the original movies will also be in the film that's set to hit theaters this summer.
