Such a good boy! Odin found the jewel in a matter of seconds in the middle of the night, while the husband and his friend were looking for hours.
The West Midlands Police dog easily sniffed out a wedding ring that was tossed in a fit of rage. An unnamed husband pulled off the ring and threw it into a field while arguing with his wife at 2 am on Saturday. But then regret immediately set in.
According to Odin's dog-handler, PC Carl Woodall, he saw the man and his friend searching through a patch of grass in the dark with a torch lighting the way, so he enlisted his partner to help. Woodall says the K-9 found the ring "in a matter of seconds."
PC Woodall said, "Our dogs are trained to sniff out human scent. The men said they’d been looking for quite some time and the ring was quite small, so I wasn’t confident there’d be enough scent for Odin. But he proved me wrong and indicated by the ring in a matter of seconds. It was in grass a couple of inches long. And of course, it was pitch black. They could have spent all night and still not found it." Yay, Odin!
