According to WTKR-TV, Cornelius Williams was returning home from the grocery store when he heard a squeaky noise coming from a cardboard box that was left in his lawn. It was dark out, so he called the authorities to help out. As the Camden County Sheriff, Kevin Jones approached the box, he was surprised to find... two newborn bear cubs!
Sheriff Jones says it’s unclear as to who left the box, and how the cubs got separated from their mom, but the cubs were taken to the NC Zoo in Asheboro by the North Carolina National Wildlife Resources Commission. Let's just say, Williams was very shocked:
