When we first came across the story of Daniel Meggs yesterday, we struggled whether or not to share it with you.  It's a sad tale that no one would wish on another.

However we decided that his story was one of determination not to let impossible situations win, and therefore is truly an inspiration.

Imagine (and I know you don't want to) being a young man, in the prime of life, engaged to the woman of your dreams (and your sweetheart since you were 16), and told you have stage 4 colon cancer...and it's aggressive...and it's spread to your liver.

For many, this would be the moment you would just get your affairs in order and await the end,

Not Daniel Meggs.

He and his lovely fiance, Jordan,  didn't just tie the knot, they were determined to carry on his legacy and she became pregnant.

He almost made it to see his baby born into this world.

Daniel Meggs passed away over the weekend.

Maybe one of the things that attracted me to this story is Daniel is and was a competitive golfer.  And here's what every competitive golfer knows:  when you hit a bad shot, when you get a bad break, you have to forget about it and keep fighting forward.  It's the next shot that matters.

Sure, cancer had dealt him a blow he couldn't recover from (deep down, he knew that), but that wasn't as important as his next move, his next shot.

Most would have given up on life.

Daniel Meggs got married, (ie STARTED A NEW LIFE) and CREATED NEW LIFE with his bride.  In the end, cancer didn't win...it didn't come close.

The next time you think you are up against insurmountable odds, I want you to think about Daniel Meggs.  I want you to think about how he reacted to much worse than what your facing.  Then I want you to take his inspiration and beat back whatever is against you with ferocity.

I know I will.
