Coronavirus Information Report

If you’ve been thinking about adopting a pet or even fostering one, now would be a GREAT time! Because of the Coronavirus, animal shelters all over the country are asking people to consider adopting or fostering a pet.

Many shelters around the country have closed and canceled events. This leaves no way for potential new owners to actually meet the pets, so fewer are being adopted. Obviously, it’s not possible for animal shelter staff to work from home, and as people get sick or self-quarantine, it’s crucial for shelters to get help.

If you’re working from home or if you plan to self-quarantine, having a friend would help pass the time and help to prevent loneliness. And trust me, a furry friend will make your life happier and brighter. Many shelters are even waiving adoption fees right now. If you’re healthy and in need of a company while you practice social distancing, consider giving an animal a temporary or permanent home. It would be a win-win!

Info on animals that need your help here in Charlotte can be found here and animals that need your help in Gastonia can be found here. Both of my dogs, Kramer and Mollie, were rescue dogs and even though they are both crazy, they bring lots of joy to my life. And the snuggles and kisses are great too! If you live outside of Charlotte, just Google the animal shelter of your city and you’ll be able to help out. And thank you!
