In the fall of 1988, I started college at Baylor University.  Some of the songs I remember being staples on the radio were "Don't Worry, Be Happy" from Bobby McFerrin, "Bad Medicine" from Bon Jovi, and a haunting, acoustic ballad from a brand new artist named Tracy Chapman called "Fast Car."

Her debut, eponymous album won three Grammys including Album of the Year, Best Pop Female Performance, and Best New Artist.  More than 30 years later, I still love that song and smile every time I hear it.

I love it so much that when I heard Luke Combs has recently covered it, I didn't want to hear it.  As much as I love Luke (and I think he's the best thing to happen to country in 10 years), I just didn't think anyone could do that song justice.

I was wrong.

This video is from Luke Comb's livestream which could be found on various social media platforms. He, like so many artists, performed a virtual concert after having to cancel various shows on his tour schedule due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
