This Senior Shoutout takes us to Carolina International School and the inspirational story of Arianna Holt.  When it came to school, the best word to describe her journey is struggle.

Her Freshman and Sophomore years were extremely difficult due to complications from a medical condition, BUT with proper treatment, she was able to turn her grades around completely, and has made the comeback of a lifetime.  Although she maintained an "A" average in her Junior and Senior years, Arianna was worried her first two would cost her a chance at college.  However, because of her hard work and determination, she was not only accepted at her number one choice, Pfeiffer University, BUT received a scholarship as well.  She'll begin there in the fall with an eye toward a major in Special Education.

Arianna has a passion to work with children with special needs. On her 12th birthday she participated in an autism walk, and since then, every year on her birthday, she volunteers with an organization for special needs. She has done walks, organized events, and has also been with an organization called The Sandbox for the past 3 years.  This is a group whose mission is to "lock arms with people in our community to meet the practical, social and emotional needs of families at the time of diagnosis or referral. We want to create opportunities for families that encourage friendships, create lasting memories, produce joyful experiences and most importantly, restore hope."

Along with her passion for working with children, Arianna enjoys volleyball and has played for 5 years. She played for her school team as well as club volleyball. One day she hopes to coach a girls volleyball team.

Arianna, we join with your family in marveling at your determination and applauding your achievements.  Honestly, we can't wait to see the mark you make on our world going forward.

So, SHOUTOUT TO ARIANNA HOLT, CAROLINA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL CLASS OF 2020!
