I dinstinctly remember "Punky Brewster" debutin on NBC back in the mid 1980s.  It got a lot of buzz because for once, the "precocious kid role" so common in sitcoms of the era, was played by a girl.  Also, the girl in question was homeless (to start).

That, and she had a really weird name, Soleil Moon-Frye.

The show was too young for me, so I was never a fan, but I definitely knew of it.

I wasn't ready for this..."Punky's" back...AND SHE'S A MOM?!

NBC had a soft launch of its new streaming service, The Peacock Network, this week and a reboot on the show starring a grown up Moon-Frye.

On the show she's a single mom raising three kids while still holding on to the "Punky Power" that made so many fall in love with her years ago.
