Country Music Hall of Fame member Harold Reid passed away Friday (4/24). He was 80. Reid was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame with his Statler Brothers bandmates in 2008.

Kyle Young CMHoF CEO said, "Harold Reid was a driving force in one of country music’s greatest quartets, the Statler Brothers. He helped steer the group to stupendous successes, and his stirring bass was the underpinning of dozens of classic hits. He was also a tremendous entertainer, and one of the world’s funniest people. For decades, he made us laugh and made us cry. As his alter ego, Lester 'Roadhog' Moran, would say, his contributions were 'mighty fine.' We mourn his loss while we celebrate a life well-lived."

The Statler Brothers enjoyed such hits as "Flowers On The Wall," "Do You Know You Are My Sunshine?" and "Elizabeth."

They won the CMA's Vocal Group of the Year Award nine times between 1972 and 1984.

Nancy Brooks has been working in the country music industry for almost 30 years. She has interviewed pretty much any country star you can think of. In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think. She loves her life in country music and has been backstage at every CMA Awards show since the late 1990s. Many of her stories are from her one-on-one interviews. She was there at the beginning of the incredible careers of many music superstars today, including Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Blake Shelton, and has interviewed them multiple times throughout the years.
