GALLERY: Powerful Images Show Protesters March in New York City

In light of George Floyd’s passing, many Americans have stepped up and shown their support across America. One photographer, Alex Lau, captured some powerful images of a recent protest in New York City. After reaching out to him, he agreed to share his incredible photos which you can see below.

These images may be hard for some to see, but it is important to take the time to learn, show support, and see those sparking positive changes.

Hi hello! I've gotten a bunch of messages from you guys asking if I'm okay since I haven't been posting. Thanks for checking in on me! I've been safe at home, I just have no interest in posting photographs of food (lol) or showing off my own work in a current time like this. That said, in light of George Floyd's passing, I felt very uncomfortable with inaction or silence, especially as a privileged Asian American. So I donated to the @mnfreedomfund and walked the streets of Brooklyn with my fellow New Yorkers today to remember George. To remember Ahmaud, Sandra, Trayvon, Eric, and so many others that didn't deserve to leave us so early because of a broken police system. I implore my fellow Asian Americans to also rise to the occasion and go beyond a social media post. If you have the means, donate. If you have the time/health, show up to protests. Take action in some shape or form. Thank you and stay safe everybody. ❤️
