Most of us know the stressful feeling of leaving the house without something important, like your wallet, cellphone, or spouse. Hopefully, you remember before you get too far from home so that you can turn around in a timely manner and save your day…or marriage. But it doesn’t always work out that way.

On May 16, 2018, astronaut Drew Feustel went on a spacewalk and forgot to bring one very important thing. About an hour into his ISS expedition, Feustel attempted to do some recording with his GoPro when he saw a “No SD” message on the screen. Wondering what that meant, he radioed the Johnson Space Center in Houston. Ground control told him that the GoPro would not record without the SD memory card installed.

It seems that the key component had not been loaded into the camera before liftoff. Yes, it was still back on Earth. Not exactly something that could be remedied with a quick U-turn. You can see and hear the conversation below:
