If you stroll along any Carolina beach you will find a shark tooth.  Sharks loose their teeth at an alarming rate and eventually many of them make it to shore.

Jessica Rose-Stander Owens was taking a stroll along the Stono River near Charleston  when she saw something sticking out of the sand.  She thought, "Ok a sharks tooth, cool" or something along those lines.  What she really found was a huge megalodon tooth.  When she brushed it off she found it was nearly six inches long and weighs almost a pound.  For ONE tooth!  The tooth is estimated to be nearly 5 MILLION years old.
