This one hit close to home.  I had just started working on Baylor University's radio station, KWBU, in 1989 when Contemporary Christian singer, Amy Grant came to Waco for a concert.

I had to interview her.

I was scared to death.

I was terrible.

She was a princess.

I never forgot her kindess, tolerance and generosity with me that day.  Amy Grant will always have a special place in my heart.

Speaking of hearts...on June 3, when word leaked that Vince Gill's wife had open-heart surgery, I was stunned and concerned.

She's recovering nicely and gave a grisly update on Instagram.
She showed off the scars from the operation on her Instagram as she gave an update on her condition.

She writes, "I didn’t want it, but I had to have it anyway and it was a week ago Wednesday. And as people heard about the surgery I started getting messages: 'I’m praying for you' …'I’m praying for you'. People I worked with decades ago, people who have come to my concerts or listen to my music, my work family, people on social media, and my own friends and family all offered their prayers....Prayer changes everything. Let’s keep those prayers going for our country and let's turn all the brokenness into love and seeing each other."
